On Wednesday, New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick sparked outrage with his choice of clothing. A photo of Belichick wearing a shirt depicting an attack on an armed man wearing a turban quickly went viral.
Though Belichick got mixed reactions for the statement, most criticized his actions.
This is a very interesting shirt that Patriots GM Bill Belichick has on. It reminds me of that video of a police dog mauling a Black man pic.twitter.com/7TpJeq2ThR

The media also took a split approach to the incident. The Boston Herald called Belichick a “true patriot,” while Vice Sports called the choice of shirt “offensive.”
The shirt originated at Trident K9, a company that sells police and military equipment for K9 units. Jim Amann, the president of the company, told reporters the T-shirt “tells a cartoon story of a deployment in Afghanistan where SEAL operators are chasing bad guys.”
Coach Belichick is a long-standing supporter of the military.
